MIDI Learn
Controlling Sunday Keys on an iPad’s screen is a great way to have your controls and visuals in view at the same time and for most use cases the touch screen is the recommended way to interact with Sunday Keys’ controls in real-time on stage.
However, should you desire to do so you can easily connect your MIDI controller’s knobs, buttons, faders, etc to control elements of the Sunday Keys main screen.
Connect your MIDI Controllers
To setup MIDI Learn, you will need to ensure your MIDI hardware is connected by opening Settings > MIDI. You can connect most MIDI controllers via USB, but depending on the device, you might need to send midi through MIDI cables instead. You can do this with a MIDI-USB cable:
By default, the Primary MIDI Controller will receive on Channel 1 from All Devices. If you have multiple MIDI devices that you'd like to use to control Sunday Keys, you can use the device dropdown to set your Primary and Secondary MIDI Controllers.

If you do not see your MIDI Controllers in the device dropdown, visit Troubleshooting MIDI Connections.
MIDI Learn
You can access MIDI Learn by opening the global menu, then tapping MIDI Learn. In the MIDI Learn view, you will see your Connected MIDI devices in the top-left. The Primary MIDI Controller will show next to the blue “1”. The Secondary MIDI Controller will show next to the pink “2”. If you need to adjust the MIDI Controller setup, visit MIDI Input in Settings.
In the MIDI Learn view you will see only the buttons, faders, and knobs in the main screen that are available for MIDI Learning.

Create a MIDI Learn connection
To create a MIDI Learn connection, select the on-screen component you would like to connect. When selected the on-screen component will show a light-blue outline and is ready to learn what hardware it should respond to. Simply move or tap the physical MIDI control you’d like to connect to that item. You should see the on-screen component indicate a created MIDI Learn connection when it changes color and receives a text label indicating the MIDI CC number. Continue creating MIDI Learn connections for all desired controls, then tap “Done” when you are finished.
By default, the Mod-Wheel and Sustain pedal are programmed to respond to MIDI CC-1 and CC-64 from the Primary Controller, respectively, even without a MIDI Learn connection in place. Both can be overridden with specific MIDI Learn connections as desired, for example, if you’d like to use a knob or fader on your controller in place of a Mod-Wheel.

Edit a MIDI Learn connection
To edit a MIDI Learn connection, tap the on-screen component that you want to edit. The component will be highlighted and ready to learn. Move or tap the physical MIDI controller to create the new connection. You should see the on-screen component indicate a created MIDI Learn connection when it changes color and receives a text label indicating the MIDI CC number. Tap “Done” when you are finished.
Remove a MIDI Learn connection
To remove a MIDI Learn connection, perform a long-press on the on-screen component to reveal a menu. Tap “Remove” to remove the MIDI Learn connection. Tap “Done” when you are finished.
Presets
MIDI Learn Presets allows you to save multiple configurations of MIDI Learn. This may be helpful to you if you find yourself using Sunday Keys with multiple hardware configurations. To create a MIDI Learn Preset, first setup the desired MIDI Learn connections. Then open the Presets dropdown and tap “+ Save Preset as”. Enter a name for the Preset and tap Save.
To change between Presets, open the Presets dropdown, then tap the Preset Name and tap “Apply”.
