If you're having trouble there is an alternate way to do this. First, check and see if you are using MainStage 3.6.0 by opening MainStage and choosing "About MainStage". If you are using MainStage 3.6.0, click here to learn about how to fix this bug so you can map the nanoKontrol2 as shown in the above video.
If you're having trouble and not using MainStage 3.6.0 please keep reading for an alternate way to set up your nanoKontrol2 knob or fader to control modulation. You'll need to alter the data your nanoKontrol2 sends so that the knob/fader you want to use is actually sending MIDI CC 1 to into MainStage. Then, no concert level mapping is required. First, make sure MainStage isn't open while you do this work.
1. To set this up for the nanoKontrol2, first you'll need to download the Korg Kontrol Editor.
2. Open Korg Kontrol Editor and choose your device:
3. Click on the knob/fader you'd like to set up (map) as your mod wheel. For example, if you wanted to make the furthest right knob your mod wheel, you'll click on that in the Editor and then you'll choose the "-" sign until you see CC#1 listed for that control:
4. Now, open MainStage and it should control modulation without any additional work inside MainStage itself.
