MainStage 3.5.1 has been released. Should you update?
Read this first:
We’re glad to see this update go live, we were able to work with MainStage’s developers over the last couple weeks to ensure the slow sample loading issues were resolved and in our testing it appears that that is indeed the case!
So for anyone who is currently on 3.5.0 we strongly recommend that you:
- First create a zipped backup of 3.5.0: Click here to learn how to do that.
- Then, go ahead and update to 3.5.1.
MS 3.5.1 still has a couple quirks that we’ve seen, including a graphical bug that causes all vertical faders to be the same color regardless of their intended color and some issues with the new Sampler plugin incorrectly loading saved volume states for converted EXS24 instruments. We’ve made MainStage’s developers aware of both of those issues as well but they have not yet been addressed as of 3.5.1.
For those of you who have not yet updated to 3.5 at all, we still recommend that you stick with 3.4.3 or 3.4.4 for live performances while the stability of 3.5 is given more time to be proven. IF you want to update to 3.5, then make sure to backup your MainStage 3.4 build first.
Again, click here and this guide explains exactly how to do so.
