Hosting AUv3 & AU instrument plugins

You can host your favorite AUv3 (iPad & Mac) and Audio Unit (Mac only) instrument plugins in any Sunday Keys Patch.

Here's how to load an AUv3 plugin into the Sunday Keys App for iPad & Mac. The process is the same for Audio Unit v2 plugins on Mac.

Note: AUv3 instruments can be loaded in both iPad and Mac formats. Audio Unit (v2) plugins can be used on the Mac format only. Hosting Audio or MIDI FX Plugins is not currently supported, only hosting instrument plugins. Plugin Hosting requires an active Sunday Keys License.

How to add an AUv3 or Audio Unit plugin to a Patch

Adding an AU Plugin as the Sound's source instrument is easy to do! Simply tap "Add Sound" to open the Sound Browser. In the Sound Browser, navigate to the Third Party Plugins folder to view the installed and compatible AUv3 and/or Audio Unit Plugins. Tap on the Plugin, then tap the "Add Sound" button to make your selection.

Modifying AU Instruments

After loading an AU Instrument, the plug-in interface will be displayed. In this interface, you'll be able to make adjustments to your AU instrument as allowed by the plug-in creator. In the event that the plug-in's interface is larger than the default window, you can tap the Expand/Collapse button in the lower left and/or scroll the window to view all controls.

Note: how your plugin displays will vary based on the way it was programmed by the plugin developer.

After making adjustments to the instrument, you can further shape your Sound by adjusting Sunday Keys' supplied Compressor, EQ, other Sound Settings, and even add MIDI and Audio FX just like any other Sunday Keys Sound.
